Bangladesh have much to achieve and nothing to lose when participating in the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, slated to be held in the USA and the West Indies. The tournament starts in June this year.
The Bangla Tigers, who have won just nine out of the 38 matches that they have played in all the T20 World Cups held since 2007, will want to make sure that they do not let that linger on their mind too much.
For Bangladeshi fans, this will also be the last chance to see the legendary Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim in an ICC-held competition.
The two players mentioned above, too, will be looking to give their best and nicking one trophy for their country. As is painfully noted and experienced nationwide, Bangladesh do not yet have an ICC trophy in their cabinet.
In the T20 World Cup 2024, Bangladesh have been placed in Group D, which also has the likes of South Africa and the Netherlands, along with fellow South Asian teams Nepal and Sri Lanka. The Bangla Tigers will fancy themselves against their opponents on any given day.
They start their campaign on June 7, taking on Sri Lanka at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Three days later, the Tigers faced South Africa at the Citi Field in New York, while on June 13, they clashed against the Netherlands in Kingston.
Their last group stage encounter is on June 16, when they face off against qualifiers Nepal at the same venue. If they qualify for the knockouts, Bangladesh can advance from the group stages.
